Finally some positive news
That’s not positive.

You’ll be able to go through half a day without hearing Xhaka rants. This is great for your mental health.
Xhaka out Neves in would be great bit of business.
Neves is a good player, but so is Xhaka. The reason I want Xhaka out is because I'd like a different type of player there, and I don’t think Neves is What I'd like for the role. He's not that much more mobile than Xhaka.
I think Neves has everything Xhaka has without the weaknesses of cracking under the press and delaying the pass. He’s also a good age, chance to get whilst stock is down, you need a passer in midfield.
Can't believe we are achieving this by this window. Would never thought we have the guts to go full transformation and sell Xhaka.
Well done

Yeah exactly. Moving Xhaka on is an opportunity to make a change. This seems like we'd be happy to keep Xhaka but he wants a move so we are looking for a like for like replacement.
Bet Arteta with want to replace him with a leftie
Talk that Newcastle are looking to take Saliba on loan and that Arteta may be open to it.
😆
When Arteta spoke about certain players being at their maximum and that you couldn’t push them to a higher level I suspect Xhaka was one of the players he had in mind.

Fair play, I didn’t think Arteta would have the balls.
Echo what Quincy said about Neves, don’t waste the opportunity to remould this midfield.
Xhaka out is great.
Neves in? WTF
On the face of it, makes no sense. A right footed Xhaka, who is slightly better passing foward, but has the same mobility issues.
Hopefully Neves is just no.5 in the shopping list (if at all).
We should try and revive Torreira. Get him being busy around Thomas Partey.

Agree, getting rid of Xhaka is a step in the right direction. However I fear Neves might end up being more of a sideways step rather than moving forward. Though to be fair I think Neves is more press resistant and better at moving the ball quicker.

If it happens it raises questions about Arteta and Xhaka. The common refrain was that Arteta was married to Xhaka (even though we really had no superior midfielders available)
Moving Xhaka is not just upgrading our squad but symbolic too.
Xhaka is the poster boy of our post 2016 disasters. Get him out ASAP. I’ll pay for the taxi!
That's where I'm at. A lot of bad energy around Xhaka's half-decade stay that needs flushing.
