Yes. And is our lack in this department a function of not having players who can pass into the box, or not having strikers who can finish in the box? This is where I stop following those who want to give Mikel another season. Our football is bad. What we are trying to do does not lend itself to high volume chance creation or high volume shooting opportunities. What changes about this next term if we are still doing the same thing?

Buendia's lacklustre PL season in terms of output in between two season in the Championship where he was a stat monster worries me a little.

Its not like Odegaards stats have been better in his half a PL season.

Some of the people who want Ødegaard now probably wouldn't want him in 2023 if he's playing in the Championship by then.

I think thats true.
Bissouma, or similar, is my big target for the window, so i’m sort of ambivalent about both Buendia and Odegaard.
I did come across this yesterday, though, which may or may not have any relevance to the conversation.
"Chances created" without assists is Ozil country.
Or Arsenal.
Anyway. Just thought it was interesting. I’d say the West Ham game is doing a fair bit of heavy lifting
He's strong, a willing runner, and technically unimpeachable. I also think he's a very smart and mature player with a good attitude and focus. We should be trying to sign him.
Not really an Arsenal problem I don't think, more a stylistic one. If you don't shoot much and don't get in dangerous areas much you tend to create more "chances" because you are more likely to give the final pass than receive it. As Quincy pointed out in another threat Ode also has a pretty low "big chance" creation stat which is very Ozil like.
Not that I think he's really like Ozil, he's a much harder worker and better in general play IMO. I just don't think he's been terribly creative.

Agree
We should be trying to sign him.
Disagree, unless the price is amazing and he doesn't expect a massive wage.

IIRC didn't MO make the 2nd most (behind Messi) progressive passes into the final 3rd in La Liga when on loan at Sociedad?

Didn’t Ozil break the record of quickest to 50 assists in Premier League history? Please put respeck on Mesut’s name.

Gotcha.
Ozil passed up one on ones pretty regularly, though. So it’s not like we were asking him to create from half way all the time. But i get what you’re saying.

There are ways to lose previously earned respect.
Romano says Ceballos will leave, confirmed. Madrid wants to get rid of him, we not taking it up.

Get in!
Hope he goes to Frankfurt.

exactly.
No. Fuck that piece of shit. No one should respect him after the last 2-3 years.
Absolutely.
