Chances created is far more informative than big chances created imo. The numbers for the latter are far too small and can swing heavily on anomalies. For example Willian tops ours with 5 and I'm pretty sure most if not all of those came from just a couple of games.
Chances created/key passes on the other hand means you're creating shooting opportunities, and while you might get a couple from Partey shooting aimlessly from 35 yards, it'll only make up a fraction of your overall number. Generally it means you're finding players in enough space and accurately enough for them to get a shot off. Doing that consistently is nothing to turn your nose up at, especially in a team like ours.
I think chances created from open play is the best indicator of what sort of impact a player has on the side and if you look at that list, it generally marries up to what you eyes tell you as to who the most creative players are. Grealish topped the list in Europes big 5 leagues in December.
