Yep, you can see us going full Wenger - just when we need strengthening in CM we go and buy some more attackers. We really do need another left back and a top quality partner for Thomas. After that I don't mind. Raphinha would be great yes, but bloody expensive. No way we get Odegaard and him.

We are definitely getting a CM. That’s been rumoured over and over. Bissouma keeps appearing but that feels like a bad idea in an Africa Cup year.

Laca definitely, it may sound harsh and he works hard. He's turned it on this season as best he can but it's new contract time and if be afraid he'll go terrible after.

The latest rumours are around Emerson Royal with Cheese, the Betis right back, and Julian Brandt from Dortmund. Brandt’s name is coming up given the insistence from Real Madrid that they see Odegaard as a future world beater. I think those two players would be great pick-ups. Emerson has been a strong performer, and Brandt just needs to recover his original trajectory. At £18m, he’s a no-brainer

Brandt has looked pretty average every time I have seen him, although admittedly not a lot.. Would rather we went back in for someone like Buendia, if Ode is not happening

I'd love to get Pellegrini. Roma have always been skint, so we should get a decent deal. The question mark will be whether he can adapt to life outside Italy, but he's just the kind of #10 I really like - flexible, can play a little deeper against poorer teams, drifts laterally and brings others into play and good at set pieces.

why are we selling leno after blood sacrificing emi for him? we have a tonne of legwork to do elsewhere, and we'll end up agonising over replacement fullbacks and a gk

Saw something recently that LFC are looking at him and his release clause is still valid.

IIRC Leno has told the club he wants out, rather than us wanting to sell him as such.

Why aren't Eddie and Elneny on that list? Both have a year left on their deal, neither deserve a new contract. Decision needs to be made on Chambers as well.

Yep. One game a week. There is no room for filler. The squad needs to be lean, squaddies need to be young and on cheap wages.

Its also why I don't think spunking a large part of our budget on Odegaard is a good idea. That only made sense when we needed to rotate a lot. He'd also want considerable wages which would lead to ESR and others looking for parity.
