Ozil, Mesut Ozil I don’t think you understand He’s Arsene Wenger’s man He better than Zidane......
Great skill, some fabulous memories, was very bad at the end, such is life.
We move on and forwards. No one is bigger than the club
Yeah, shame the way it ended but left us with some amazing moments to look back on. Will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Turkish league.
Yes IBL, for all that's happened in the last year or two, he was a great player who gave us some great moments in his time with us. Wish him the best in Turkey.
Dennis Bergkamp - 404 appearances - 200 goals + assists - 2.02 Cesc Fabregas - 304 appearances - 149 goals + assists - 2.04 Mesut Ozil - 254 appearances - 121 goals + assists - 2.09
Yeah gunners yeah!
Rumors that we are curtailing Torriera's loan to Atletico and will sell him permanently to Monaco in the January window.
Rumor to be taken with a pinch of salt since it is reported by TuttoMercato who are quite unreliable.

What a meaningless comparison. Fabregas's appearances started when he was 16 and he was a CM for much of his time, Bergkamp's appearances lasted until his retirement aka way beyond his prime, while Özil was literally only here for what is typically the best years of a player's career.

So? Özil played in a side comparatively 2-3 levels worse off than the other two, in a league with a 'top 6' rather than 'top 2' or 'top 4'. There are contextual factors that go either way. More than some type of comparison, my takeaway from that is Özil is keeping great company there in the record books. Should anyone wish, to celebrate the player's mark on Arsenal's history.
Seems he's taken a 290k (down from 350k) a week paycut to join them. Got a 4.5m sign on fee which works out to another 30k or so over the 3 years. So he's on about 90k a week all in.
Wouldn't he have been able to earn a lot more in the US with DC United who he was linked with?
Probably not significantly, I remember Zlatan set a new record when he was there on about 100k a week. Playing for Fener is probably a genuine ambition of his.

Boyhood club IIRC re his family roots. Would also mean he would continue to qualify for UEFA comp.

Monaco look to sign Lucas Torreira from Arsenal (caughtoffside.com)
Would be pleasing to see for him.

Exactly. Such a weird take from Quincy.
The order of those three is also how I would rank them and it's simply a celebration of three great creators who are statistically almost identical (to my surprise). A list of our playmaker lineage, an indication of what is required to be at the heart of the team and the massive boots all future incumbents will have to fill.
Good luck Emile!
Plenty of of players who couldn't dream of having Bergkamp ability keep great company with him in the record books. It's a meaningless comparison because it doesn't tell us anything about these guys' Arsenal careers compared to each other. What does it mean that a prime Özil assisted as much in a worse team as teenage Fabregas in a better team? Also, the way math works is that if you don’t play your stats don’t get worse or better so in terms of Daredevil's comparison all the time Özil has spent on the bench and the stands in the last two seasons doesn't count negatively for him.

Then that then leads to the questions if his form wasnt bad enough to warrant being benched then he could have done a job in the time he was frozen out.
I'm more of the opinion that his form did go down post 2017/18 which can be seen by his lack of telling contributions in most of his appearances since. Whilst it shows how bad poor he'd been since then it also highlights how good he was at his peak.
Dat Fabregas Torreira partnership tho
Nobody can tell me Ozil was a better player for us than Bergkamp and Fabregas
Indeed not. Anyone who puts Ozil in an all time Arsenal XI ahead of either of them for instance probably didn't see Dennis or Cesc play very much.
Don't think anyone has, have they? As far as I see the stats show Bergkamp first, Fabregas second and Ozil last out of the three.
I am glad he is gone, but I will miss the player he was.
Moments of quality that will live forever in my memory. The assist to Aubameyang against Leicester is one of my favourite Arsenal moments. And Özil was in full on genius mode that night.
In his pomp, an amazing footballer.
