Another example of a decision based upon convenience/circumstance/finance rather than design or intent, and set the precedent for the subsequent decisions re Luiz and Willian = near enough is good enough.

Along with a number of Serie A clubs, however recent talk from his agent says he is not going anywhere in Jan.

I think the only two players we should have gotten any sort of fee for on that list were Ramsey and Alexis, and I would have preferred to keep the former. If Alexis had left we would have spent all the dough on Lemar anyway.

Welbeck definitely still had value but its as much about buying non sellable assets like Sokratis, Mhitarian, etc as anything else. Now we have Willian, Luiz, etc in the same situation.

Yep, exactly. Their experience accounted for pretty much nothing too.

Maybe we could have gotten something for Dany but I think people forget he was coming off his second ACL injury. Would have been madness to extend with him further just to maintain his transfer value. It wasn't obvious that he'd ever play another top flight game again.

We shouldn't have extended him, in fact we never should have signed him. From day one we should have been trying to offload him, terrible, unambitious transfer.

With the loan deal confirmed for Ryan we are back to having our maximum number of Non-HG players, meaning we will need to see further departures before any more Non-HG players can be used, such as the speculation regarding Odegaard.

Most obvious options being Runarsson and Mustafi, but also potential options to terminate Ceballos' loan and/or terminate the likes of Willian/Luiz?

Most likely Runarsson loaned out and hopefully we can shift Mustafi or terminate his contract like we did for Sokratis.

TBH I'd be happy with Runarsson and any of Xhaka, Mustafi & Willian departing.
