Also I'd imagine Haaland himself is an even bigger obstacle to signing him than Dortmund, which is why I mentioned Mbappe. These aren't players who want to come here. The only reason to sign for us instead of better clubs is if we can guarantee playing time and they can't. Haaland would start for any team bar Bayern and RM probably, if City keep trying to sign Kane instead of him for a similar price they're fucking stupid.
Agreed we aren't likely to be high on their list of options, and that is one of my concerns with Arteta and Edu as our management team compared to the rest of the big6, let alone the Euro Elite. However that does not mean we shouldn't at least ask the question.
IMO Haaland would be a starter for any club as no one could afford him to sit on the bench unless they did so via his release clause. I do wonder about how many clubs would actually be in for him as at next summer and more so as to how many he fits with their current style of play, as I see him primarily referred to as being mostly a poacher type (same with Vlahovic), which does not suit the current style and roles at most of the elite clubs.
IMO Kane is currently a better fit for MC than Haaland, and the same applies for us with out current CF role. However Haaland is still young enough to adapt his game, and the same applies to us in that we can also adapt our play.
Got to say Anzac, I can’t agree with you here. Haaland leads the line and walks into any of the elite clubs.
Put Haaland between Mane/Jota and Salah, and Liverpool are better than what they are now.
Haaland is simply better than Lukaku, and would start for Chelsea.
He would start for United and give them an actual focal point.
He would start for Barcelona.
He would start for Real, now if they get Mbappe, plus with Benzema, it does prove to be an headache. Especially as Vinicius plays off the left, so I can’t see Mbappe playing off the wing. Haaland is still good enough to start, and literally only Real Madrid would have these issues.
Haaland would walk into the City lineup. Would give them a genuine leader up top, and free up space for everyone else. De Bruyne would have a field day, as would Sterling. No doubt, he should be on their list ahead of Kane.
Bayern are rumoured, but surely Dortmund would not go down that route again. Haaland is the natural successor for Lewandowski, in every sense of the word. They could play together as well.
Haaland simply put, should be the most sought after striker in years. The trick is not going after him now. It was buying him from Salzburg.
