Our wide forward options are poor.

In addition to Pepe, Martinelli just doesn't convince me at all. Poor ball control and dribbling and God knows if he's going the way of Bellerin with regards to his pace and explosiveness.

I wish Nelson wasn't such a lost cause because he actually has the attributes ffs.

Pepe’s game has changed a lot from when he started with us. He was excellent at throwing defenders off balance. Now his strengths seem to be a good delivery and eye for goal.

Yeah good assessment. I feel bad talking about him in such a way because I know he can still be such a huge threat to the opposition.

It's mostly our awful system that makes all attackers look bad unless they're absolutely elite technically - which don't really exist at the current Arsenal.

Without Pepe we'd have drawn yesterdays match 0-0. He's been horribly mismanaged for most of his time here but as usual if you play him regularly he's a difference maker. We can't afford to get rid of a player like that.

Reckon Pepe will have a better season than Sancho. Obviously one of them is 20 and in his first season in the PL, but my point is you've not exactly got a ton of better options lining up to join us.

He's been our best forward in the last 6 months I reckon, odd time to be hating on him.

Exactly, he's easily our best forward if we actually had some sort of structure and dynamic in our attacking play. Can definitely see Arteta selling him first chance he gets and upgrading on him with some English plomber like Redmond or Gray.

I don't mind English kids from our academy, in fact since they're homegrown and usually grow up supporting the club they're usually among my favourite players in the squad, nothing better than having some kid from Hackney, Islington or Camden come through and make it with us. I was a fan of Parlour, Cole before he snaked us, Wilshere or Saka. I fucking hate that we buy English players though it's literally the worst misuse of funds possible.

White and Ramsdale might come good or not but they would have to be among the best in world football to justify their fees. They will never be worth the fees we paid for them unless we sell them to City or United when they come good at some point in the future or recoup money from the likes of Everton after they fail which would both be shit outcomes. So yeah I'm not happy with the way we overspend for anyone and it's well known there's an English tax in the PL.

We can discuss the quality of the signings until the cows come home, but ultimately these are the type of transfers that you either sink or swim with. Arteta has made his bed; he has been backed in a way I can't remember an Arsenal manager ever being backed relative to such shitty results. If you spend 150 million and still finish 6-8th your ass gotta go. That's the long and short of it.

We didn't "nab" them we paid through the fucking nose for them is the whole point. Nobody battled us for their signatures.

Pepe in and around a box is a weapon teams would love to have. He has weaknesses which become more apparent when he has to receive the ball and link up with team mates in the middle of the pitch. Up to the manager to get the team to play in a way that amplifies his strengths.

We don't play much through the middle. We need to isolate him with his marker more often. He has them retreating and worried a lot.

I don’t get this obsession Arsenal fans have with players who ‘link up well’ disregarding individual match winners in favour of someone who can make 5 meter passes for the full backs. Same complaints about Sanchez and his one footedness. Yet are happy when we had the likes of Walcott and Chamberlain out wide.

We lack someone who can beat players one on one. It would make us less predictable and harder to defend against.

I wouldn’t mind making a move for Zaha in January. Bloke is an Arsenal fan, proven in the Premier League, is a box of tricks, carries a goal threat and has quite a spikey attitude.

I’d play him on the left.

Pepe is quite creative, actually. I think it's overstated that he's some kind of poacher. Created loads of chances against Norwich most touches of any player, created the goal. At Lille some of his best work came at the end of moves that he started from the RB position.

If we have Zaha, Pépé And Saka in the team and only one of those is "guaranteed" a starting spot like in that draft then Zaha is the last person that should be.

Yeah people don't really count creativity unless its some magic defence splitting ball but most goals come from people getting in the box and making simpler passes.

Even having Theo provided a balance to more of the wide play makers we had at the time.

Zaha absolutely would be first choice on the left. Both Pepe and Saka operate much better on the right
