Given the choice of one signing between Xhaka/another CM or Bellerin/another RB, I'd opt for keeping Bellerin on all day long. It looks like we're getting an AM.

20m is a great fee for Holding. It would also ensure us getting a RB

Agreed, £20m would be a good fee for Holding. Here's hoping we find a way to shift Nketiah (£20m), AMN (£20M), Nelson (£10-15m), Torreira (nominal), Cedric/Bellering (nominal) and Lacazette (nomimal) before the end of the window too. Then focus those funds and wage headroom on a RB, AM and ST. No point hoping for a DM as that will be Xhaka for the foreseeable future unless Lokonga has a TAA/Pedri type arc in his first season.

If we accomplish the above, I would love to see Vlahovic, Odegaard and a Ridle Baku/Tyler Adams type come in.

Having typed the above out however I realise that is way too much work for 20 odd days. So no sales and an overpriced Maddison it is!

every year less on the contract is less value when we actually sell. just fucking sell him for £10m if thats all we can get for him. thats still a better outcome than letting him run down his contract and leave on a free

or giving him/them a new deal for a player who is not fit for purpose.

Aubameyang is not leaving. Nobody in the world will match his wages, not even get close to them. He is here until the end, or until we pay him to leave. Amazing what happend with him.
Hard to see Lacazette leaving as well, from his point of view it makes no sense. This is the last big contract he will ever see. If he leaves on a free next season with all the loyalty bonuses, signing bonuses, he might make close to what he is making now. If a team has to pay a fee for him...he gets half of what he gets now. Also, if he stays he blocks a new striker coming over here, so he gets to play another full season. I can't see him leaving.

I knew auba would end up pissing his prime years up a wall at arsenal, and that laca would ultimately flatter to deceive. have to start seriously planning for life without them both, and find a striker that meshes with saka, esr, Tierney etc

We should just let Lacazette leave for free this season. We bring forward the inevitable and save circa 10m is wages. Also allows us to replace him early. Laca gets a payday elsewhere as there is no fee and we get a new striker.

To be fair he barely plays and kops a ton of abuse. Mad how difficult we are finding it to shift these guys.

The Ornstein article says Bellerin is willing to go down in wages to leave.

Much more damaging to my mind is that Willian is still at the club, and there isn't a single indication that we're trying to push him out or that he's willing to leave. Should have known it was a pure pipe dream to get rid of that pest.

we're Barcelona lite in terms of ROI relative to the wages we pay. just cratering players value from the moment they join us. whites market value will be 15-20m by the end of this season once our handiwork is done

Willian didn't make the squad in a game where we had to start Balogun and bring on Nelson, which I'd say is a big an indicator as any.

Reckon the issue is a discrepancy between how we value these guys and what foreign clubs are able to afford. Swap deals are not the worst idea if we can find them.
