I don't think any footballer has ever received a better retirement package than Cedric. He went from being longterm injured at Southampton, who didn't want to give him a new contract and were convinced he was going to walk for free because there were zero interest in him until we showed up, to getting a 4 year contract at Arsenal worth £16 million. Most of those years he will be past 30 too. Just smashing business all around.

Jovic just gave an interview talking about how he could be loaned out again this season because Ancelotti is yet to talk to him. I'd love to see him in Arsenal colours, he's still just 23 his physical style would fit the league to a T.

Yes please, and there are still stories regarding an interest in Belotti, although I'd prefer Jovic as he has played in several different leagues and would not take as long to adapt as a player who had not done so.

houseboat sauce. in saying that, I don't what our strategy is here 2 weeks out from the season. are we selling to buy, or are we buying and then selling? because there's not much momentum in either direction. willock, xhaka, willian, AMN, torreira, bellerin, lacazette - we need to be decisive with these guys

Don't forget Kolasinac. Yeah certainly feels like the window is now at a precipice to take a downward or progressive turn, though we aren't the only club backlogged. Transfer team's really got their work cut out for them. Of all of those, I think Bellerin's agent will twist our arm and he'll likely get his way at any loss.

Not only down to us to be decisive though really. Aside from Eddie, Willock and AMN, most of the other guys will be targets for broke ass Europe clubs. Roma apparently need to sell before they can complete the Xhaka deal.

It's the usual story, as we get closer to deadline day people will drop their demands and expectations while others will get desperate to bring someone in.

Some noise but not from anyone reliable yet, that Willian has signed with Al Ahli.

Willian very close to signing for Al Ahly according to some arab twitter account with 200k followers.

On one hand I respect him for wanting to leave, on the other hand the fact that he's after payday moves tells you all you really need to know about his motivation and mentality. My guess is he thought he could have the best of both worlds here but if not, he may as well go for a full on retirement plan.
