People moan about Auba "bailing us out" when he scores, but when he doesn't, what is the point of him? Strikers don't bail you out when they score,that's their bloody job. Auba couldn't make a chance for himself either off or on the ball, and when he received it in dangerous situations he fucked up simple passes or thrashed it out of play. Saka has covered for his poor performances playing behind him, but this game showed exactly why playing him as a CF has never worked.
Pepe is obviously as frustrated with his play as we are. Bordering on tragic now. Fool.
Willian is Arteta's biggest mistake. It's ruined the chemistry in the team, ruined our balance, ruined Pepe's form, and keeps Nelson out of the team.
I'm more and more convinced that Willian has to be sacrificed on the alter of Arteta's shame in order for this team to come together properly. I'd have him on the bench for just about every match, including the EL. He can press for 15 minutes at the end of matches when someone else needs a break, or we need a goal and there's nothing else left to try.
