Thought Pepe was doing ok to be honest, but I’ve no time for that sort of foolishness, at least he doesn’t have the credit in the bank to get away with it.

Pepe is the least of our worries in attack today. His red card was stupid but it happens most players at some stage. He'll be suspended now for 3 games so we will get to see if Nelson can step up and keep him out of the team. Willian's been horrible all season though and Willock showed why he's been limited to the Europa.

I'm not sure we played long enough with 11 men to make that point. A match against Bielsa was always going to be a tactical battle. Let's see how we fare in the next few games as he'll know we need to create more post-Villa.

It was the simple 5 yard passes that were loose all game that messed us up. The difference in technical quality when saka came on was unreal.

Agree. He won't win us games most of the time. He's the epitome of Arteta's tactics actually.

How's that going for us? We're three points worse off now than we were at the same point last season, we've gone eight hours without a goal from open play in the league, and we just conceded the most shots in a game since that infamous Norwich match under Emery.

We are clearly not allowing creative freedom to players.

Most of our attacking players don't have the creativity to warrant that freedom. People understate just how limited most of them are - look at Saka coming on and all of a sudden we can string more than 3 passes together. Not to say it's not Arteta's fault if he's expecting too much from the attackers he has.

There's probably a reason why you used this weird way of describing their league table position instead of writing it out though, and that's because Arsenal, United and City all have shit placements. It's not about them not doing well with their circumstances (because yes, they are), but people talking about them in a way that would make you really surprised to see that they have the same amount of points as Newcastle and being 14th in the table.

I’m also cautious of league placements before around a dozen rounds. We are still so early in the season that one win can move you up 3 or 4 places. Teams need to play more teams (and more variety of teams), and space out a bit so we know what is actually happening. I know I’m impressed each time I’ve watched Leeds. Even when they lost 4-1 to wolves they looked decent. Palace game, not so much.

He carries the ball at speed and will at least try to release it if there's a pass on. The other 2 do neither of those things

That comes with games.

It can come with games or it can get worse with poor performances and pressure. He fooked up his loan by falling out with the manager then messed up again when he refused to go on loan this season. Both opportunities to learn yo become effective.

Had no idea, and Emery was sacked 29th of Nov so Arteta's clock has to start ticking soon
