Well done the players who didn't get sent off. Overall, a poor result but within the circumstances, you'd take it. Pepe, Willock and Nelson had a chance to stake their claims today and can't say any of them took it

Can't really conclude whether Arteta can generate more chances from this squad but could definitely still do with more options (as evidenced by the Willock sub).

Play willock, nelson and saka, and martinelli when he's back. Willian can be the experienced stop gap.

Pepe has to be sold, worse signing than lacazette. Another guy who was flying in ligue 1 then has a total identity crisis when his style doesn't translate to football outside of france, and lacks the werewithal to even attempt to adapt

Rest of the team ranged from ok (Ceballos/Xhaka/Nelson/Bellerin) to straight garbage (Pepe/Willian/Willock).

Overall a very disappointing performance before the red - a well earned point given the circumstances though, and we had a few chances to snatch it

I thought we actually looked more dangerous playing a more direct game when pepe went off, no sterile passes

Thought Holding and Gabriel didn't put a fit wrong positionally and in their duels. Leno was brilliant. Bellerin and Tierney had their good and bad moments. The rest of our starters were just not good enough.

I think Arteta plays football that shouldn't be acceptable at Arsenal, and I think he should be told that in no uncertain terms. This was pure, undiluted shit from us, long before Pepé got himself sent off like the mug he is.

I looked at their team and every player is supposedly bang average on paper. That's still a championship team quality to be fair. Dallas, Klisch, Alioski, Cooper... all terribly average

Thought Pepe was doing ok to be honest, but I’ve no time for that sort of foolishness, at least he doesn’t have the credit in the bank to get away with it.

And you can blame players only for so long. There isn't one player at Leeds I will want starting for Arsenal and yet there is cohesion in their play.

We need to change our training routine. We are clearly not allowing creative freedom to players. It's still acceptable when there are results. But when they dry up too it's impossible to stand this.

Poor game overall. We're toothless. No creativity at all. It feels like our offensive strategy is to pass around slowly and hope the opposing team makes a mistake. We have no urgency or structure worth talking about. Arteta needs to fire his offensive coach or risk going down the emery path. We don't have the best players but we can surely do better than what other teams are doing with worse players.

I'm not sure we played long enough with 11 men to make that point. A match against Bielsa was always going to be a tactical battle. Let's see how we fare in the next few games as he'll know we need to create more post-Villa.

Also, side-point but really don't think we can prioritise playing style at this point in time. We need results.

I'm curious if we get a point without Xhaka?

He does a lot of dirty work, and helps our CBs massively by offering a third central defender to help cover space/crosses.

I know he's not good enough to help us get the three points (from the start), but he's also why our floor (strong defensive team) is enough to gain a point even when down to ten men.

Was listening to an interview with one of their fans / podcasters. He says they have a lot of players they should’ve sold even while they were in the Championship. This should be a stabilization season for them and then they can decide to give Bielsa real support

On the other hand we look much better at the back. Just leave it to the players for the attacking half.

He was doing better than half the team. He's dumb as bricks. Still better than Auba in fact.

There's probably a reason why you used this weird way of describing their league table position instead of writing it out though, and that's because Arsenal, United and City all have shit placements. It's not about them not doing well with their circumstances (because yes, they are), but people talking about them in a way that would make you really surprised to see that they have the same amount of points as Newcastle and being 14th in the table.
