Tierney was weak as piss all game and let everyone he rubbed shoulders with get goal-side of him. I guess it's not surprising since he's built like a twig but it was a bit of an eye-opener for me. I thought he was a lot more physical and stubborn as a player.

Bellerin was awful though and it had nothing to do with holding up physically, he's just positioned like an academy kid and it's what turns a goal chance (after Ceballos stupidly gave away the ball) into a certain goal. It was truly pathetic. He's always been clueless in these situations too. There was a period where it felt like he conceded a penalty every other game. After 200 games in an Arsenal shirt he is what he is and there will be no improvement. We have bigger issues at the moment but he has to be phased out over the next 12 months.

I don't think the team balance helps. IMO Bellerin/Tierney are no more liabilities as individuals than the likes of TAA, but the LFC system & style gives him better protection to excel at what he does best, which is an important component of their play.

Bang on about Bellerin. He’s rigid and doesn’t have enough physically to over power opponents.

We really should play Ainsley, who credit to him, has come on leaps and bounds

There was a moment yesterday where Tierney got the ball and he froze because we'd been pulled out of shape and he couldn't work the patterns. It happens plenty and they just go backwards to start the move again. Its really infuriating to watch.

That said I did think we had more nice moves around their box yesterday than in other recent games so hopefully we are going to see some improvement.

Yes, Partey is key. We are also hamstrung on the right wing when not even Pepe really knows what he wants to do. So basically our only consistent outlet is Tierney, and we have Auba feeding on scraps that fall off the table.

Pepe is fucking useless. Sure he looks semi competent on the ball at times, but he's like a child off the ball. Has no idea how to position himself, how to make runs without the ball, and receive the ball in places where he can actually use his skills effectively. And he's already 25 ffs. What a waste of money.

Definitely more than 5. Bellers has a couple of decent moves going forwards.

Something definitely isn’t working as intended. Arteta has mentioned a few times that his idea is to create overloads on the pitch yet yesterday you had several attacks where the players were nowhere near each other.

Anyway, the real test from an attacking perspective will come in smaller games in the weeks to come.

forget too early, might as well play him if he wants to leave because we haven't shown any desire to develop him in the first team. he'll either sink or swim, prove our coaches to be the idiots or prove that he was wrong and impatient. and if he fails and it ruins his confidence so what, he'll be someone elses problem. ruthlessness should be the order of the day.

If Balogun was good enough he'd be given a shot. Bloke is 19 and hasn't even been on the bench in the first team for one of the scrappy cups. There seems to be a clear diskrepancy between how much he's rated by fans who never watch him play and how he's seemingly rated within the club.

so far this feels right. and in the kiddie's games I've seen last year and the Brightono game last month doesn't seem like someone who is completely out of place. Saliba immediately looked out of place and he's more or less the same age in one game.

i've seen him play and holding the club up as this infallible arbiter of who is good enough as if they don't make mistakes is ridiculous.

They're not infallible but they work with these kids every day, and when they don't fast-track someone while fans on social media all cream themselves over highlight reels I tend to think that the hype is a little bit bullshit. Why is Balogun the only one who everyone supposedly can see is unimaginably great except his coaches, the same coaches who have worked with every other talent coming through?

He looks completely unpolished. Was my first impression of him that he looks like he didn't get his skills from an academy. Sometimes that gets you Alexis, sometimes it gets you unreliable stuff like Pepe is right now.

Pepe has been so disappointing. We need to cash in next summer if we can but his wages will be hard to get off the books.

They are number of PL clubs who have made big signings in the last few windows who have failed miserably like Kepa, Joelinton, Haller, Anderson, Maguire etc. PL clubs have more money then sense.

Hopefully we see more fiscal responsibility from the managing team moving forward. To think we spent £120m plus on Lacazette and Pepe. That is border line criminal and why moving forward I'd much rather us invest more on a sure thing but to do so we need CL and need it badly. The gambles are not paying off.

We cannot afford pepe to be a bust, we can't even afford for him to be an impact sub. He need to be a heavy hitter, and so far he has not even given even hints that there's consistency in him. He looks like a guy incapable of producing a premier league purple patch, and those are the guys you spend 50m+ on. I'm also not convinced that arteta is the right coach to get more from him, certainly in the current formation. I had my doubts when we bought him, and he's not much to quell them
