Gabriel looks great. He has been beaten a few times by quick players, but I think that happened because timing and positioning was slightly off.

Ceballos is definitely the long-term solution (if he stays here for the long term) because Elneny's ceiling is lower than what we need in a starting midfielder, but credit where credit is due it would be cruel to bench Elneny the way he's playing now. Him, Partey and Bellerin were all brilliant. Gabriel too, although we wouldn't be saying that if he was rightfully sent off.

Monstrous player, love his presence. Still feels like we're trying to build a plane while it's flying, but he stabilizes us in a way we so desperately need.

I remember saying I thought it was weird why there was no hype and excitment about him when we were first linked. For me he is the perfect defender we could sign and brilliant to get him for 22m only. Very little people cared about this signing when we were first linked and majority shit on him.

He is everything we need in defence and our defence is set for the next decade with him .

He was 1/3 of the business we needed to do this summer. Too bad we only did 66% of the job, but hard not to be pleased with how it's looking so far with this guy.

He keeps this up and he's easily the bargain of the window. Hilarious to think our cbs were a combined 30m or even with kt 55m and manutds was double that with one player

He got left in a lot of one v one situations in the first half and he dealt with them all. Excellent performance.

The situation where he realised that he had given Greenwood a little too much space on the left and quickly closed him down was great. Greenwood was twisting and turning and looking for contact so he could throw himself on the ground and cry for a penalty, but Gabriel was too smart to get that close. Greenwood ended up being offside ultimately but it didn't change anything. It took like half a minute for that call to arrive and the threat had already been dealt with by then.

Crazy how quickly this guy has settled, was willing to write this season off and just let him settle in. He’s walked in and I’d say his performances are up there with any top CB in the league this season.

Twitter had people believing he’d be playing second fiddle to Saliba, Saliba will do well to hit this kind of level anytime soon!

Signing this guy was such a coup. He has that smothering style of defending that intimidates forwards. Once all our mediocre centre halves are gone, lets double down and find him an equally good partner and finally stop worrying about our defense for the first time in 15 years

And now we are leaning on that spine and getting very little from Aubameyang. Once both ends connect, should be decent.
