Damn, didn't realize it was that low. Their goals had xG values of 0.05, 0.06 and 0.07 respectively and then they had 0.15 xG worth of shots other than their goals.

That Bamford chance was clear cut as far as I'm concerned, you're telling me it he was given a 6% chance of scoring there?

Seems low, although I don't think it was an easy chance since Alisson had come out as well as he could. A penalty is 0.8 and there the keeper is on his line and you have the perfect angle to score. Maybe xG has a problem calculating lob opportunities and therefore gives a low result when the keeper is covering a lot of the angles when you don’t consider lobs? Have no idea how it works to be honest.

It's definitely not right. Stuff like this is why I don't really trust xG, I get no model is perfect but that seems way off to me.

James having a good debut for Everton.

It's a quantitive stat so it doesn't matter much in an isolated game. They're shaped to be consistent over time though.

James still looks a very good player, he will be ace for Everton this season

S2 of All or Nothing off to a promising start.

What a cross and great header from Calvert-Lewin.

Spurs look dire.

You realize that xG is based on all previous chances that have as many similar characteristics as that one. They keep updating the models to add more details, even dimensions like height of the ball to help calculate each opportunity.

Great goal Everton. It’s been coming. Hope they get more.

Even if he doesn't light the league up, he's a better footballer than Everton could ever dream of having otherwise.

Spurs squad need a refresh - too many of them have been around for a while and look jaded. Hojberg in particular looks awful out there.

Hilarious that Dele Alli spent the first half running into everybody else’s way. And then got pulled. I thought he was supposed to be the North London Messi

Hojberg is such a small time signing. Him and Winks are a bottom half of the table pairing.

Looks like he's condensed the full span of his career into about 5 years and is now in his twilight years ready for the MLS.

Actually the sort of midfield you'd expect to see at Everton

Spurs are dull. How can a brand new team be more exciting than them?

Auba would have had a hattrick if he found himself in the positions Richarlison found himself in.

Spurs look broken, much like they did this time last year. Good thing is they probably can't afford to sack Jose. What a ridiculous appointment he was.

Everton should have put this to bed, Spurs are terrible.

That chance he fluffed in the first half has to be an early miss of the season contender.

Should we have made a bid for James? Seems like his final price was just 12M pounds.
