I don't think that's accurate. Didn't he get dropped just before lockdown? I remember we started a couple of games with Luiz and Mari before the latter got injured. If Chambers was fit and Mari was fit I don't think he gets as much game time.
He was basically ahead of Holding and Sokratis definitively and that's about it (and you can see why), and Kola got picked ahead of them too for a while.
