Loved The Trial of the Chicago 7 in a "get angry while watching" kind of way, even though it was done more lightheartedly than series such as When They See Us and Unbelievable. The ending was a bit too Hollywood, but I'll let that slide because the rest of it was so good. I haven't watched Newsroom and never will because I've seen some ridiculous and laughable clips, but it's hard to think that Sorkin wrote that show when I consider his movies of the last ten years. The sounctrack was also pretty great.

Just watched Wonder Woman 1984. Thought it was good overall. The writing is a bit heavy-handed, giving us a somewhat sprawling movie reminiscent of some of the busy Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Here it’s not just the villains, it’s the overall moral message that the movie tries to tackle, and the ridiculous mechanic that the McGuffin sets off. Through it all though Gal is charming and radiant and really carries the movie. Worth a watch but not outstanding.

Thought it was a step backwards, 6/10. Is it just me or were the action scenes much worse than in the first film? Especially the air physics really looked like they were from a movie made in 1984. The ending was better than the terrible CGI mess from the first one though.

It probably wasn’t as good as the first one. Regarding CGI and action scenes, I’m yet to think of a single action scene in the current DC universe that blew me away. Aquaman was probably the most even movie overall for me.

Hearing a few people not liking this film, a shame as the first was really good.

I didn't like the first. Gadot is too poor an actress to carry it. Chris Pine picked up a lot of the heavy lifting but ultimately the film relies on its star and she's an entirely uninteresting hero. I'll still watch this one at some stage though due to the lack of blockbusters out this year.

I thought the first one was pretty overrated too. I think it was more out of a sense of relief that finally one of the DC movies wasn't an absolute joke.

Got around to watching Tenet. I have to say it’s a lot better than what I was expecting, and nowhere near as complicated or convoluted as I was expecting either.

Not one of Nolan’s best, but I’d give it a solid 7/10. He’s a great story teller.

I liked Soul a lot, but have any of the parents here watched it with their kid(s)? I have a feeling that I wouldn't have liked it much when I was younger.

I did. My 6 year old liked it fine, I wouldn't say it was his favourite. 3 year old wasn't bothered but thats to be expected. I found it decent, lower tier pixar but that still makes it one of the better kids movies around. Wasn't really funny or actiony enough for me and I found it a bit like a not quite as good version of Coco.

Yeah, I preferred Coco as well.

Yeah, same for me. Watched it yesterday and felt it wasn't quite up to the top tier Pixar, but as you say it's still a good movie. Had some genuine laugh out loud moments.
