one night in miami is a great little film. about a fictional night when ali, Jim Brown, Sam cooke and Malcolm x celebrated in miami together. leslie odom jr particularly impressed me as sam cooke
La Planète sauvage, The Lodger, The Emperors Naked Army Marches On some fascinating movies from recent viewings.
Thanks to those that recommended The Wild Goose Lake, Mother and 2049 on here.
Some Kazuo Hara in there, nice!
Saw the Green Book the other day when the wife put it on Netflix. Really enjoyed it.
snyder cut of justice league was marginally better than the whedon cut, if only that it added some more context to the heroes and beefed up the villains. outside of that it was a snydery mess, replete with overused slomo, bad dialogue and a cheesy soundtrack. nothing could have a covered for the fact they rushed the whole dc universe to compete with disney
I thought it was a lot better personally (which isn't saying much mind you) but not up to Marvel standards. At least it felt like the franchise was headed in some kind of direction whereas the previous one was just an incoherent mess. I think being so long actually added some depth to the characters but there was a lot of pointless drivel in there as well.
I like Marvel and the superhero stuff as good light entertainment, but 4 hours of it in one sitting? I just can't bring myself to do it.
I didn't watch the Whedon version and I wont be watching the Snyder version. Snyder is a terrible film maker, who cares that he did better Whedon is a show runner/script doctor and not any sort of film director. The cast isn't good enough and not one of those films has been good. Just scrap it all and start again.

Can’t say it better. Keep the first Wonder Woman And Birds of Prey. Burn the rest with gasoline

Watched it in three sittings!
Agree with the last bit, they need to be brave and give someone control and let them see out their vision. There is no marvel universe if Disney don’t give Kevin Feige a chance and remove all the obstacles in his way. So much to work with DC and so far it has been a massive disappointment.
Just lighten the mood for a start. I hate the whole asthetic. Feels like 300. And then tell the coherent integrated tale. It’s okay to just admit defeat and start again
James Gunn's Suicide Squad will probably do that.

I saw this on Twitter the other day and have to admit I laughed:
Two great examples of how you shouldn't make films.
😆
😆 Perfect description.
I love how they all strike a pose similar to some random Skyrim NPC who tries his best to look casual while he is waiting for you to get near enough so he can shout some random factoid at you.
The first movie left very little wiggle room. That was one of the worst PoSs I’ve ever watched

The lads looks like action figures that only move their arms. Gadot looks like she's posing for an ASOS shoot. Which is about right because she's no actress.
She's really wooden. I read a review of WW84 and it literally said "never has a superhero been better cast". These people write about movies for a living.
Shit actress playing in shit films and even worse shit human. That John Lennon song + video clip when covid kicked off was funny though.
The clip is top-shelf cringe; never been able to last more than 15 seconds. The me the likes of Natalie Portman, Gal Gadot don't hold a light to the likes of Linda Hamilton or Sigourny Weaver as action leads.
