Good point. Washington and Pattinson came across as a bit flat throughout the film. [spoiler] No real development until right at the end..semi spoiler [/spoiler]

That's disappointing to hear. Out of all the worries one could have about this movie, the performances of those two would've been my last one.

RIP Chadwick Boseman, the Black Panther movie was a real big moment for a lot of young black kids around the world. He will rightly be seen as a hero to many.

Incredible he did quite a few films while fighting cancer. Big respect for how he just got on with it and kept everything private.

The privacy reminded me of Bowie. Quite a shock to hear that news—I wasn't a huge fan of his, but you have to respect the approach.

I watched Tenet. My issue is that sounds like Nolan purposefully tried to make it so over-convoluted that you can't really keep up with the plot in real time, especially with the muffled dialogue. I don't mind complicated or convoluted, but this seems to be designed to be incomprehensible in the details. You can get the general sense of what's going on, but impossible to follow the details of the plot in real time. Add to that the fact that the plot is the only thing given the lack of any character development as others have said, and I found it quite disappointing.

I found the plot relatively easy to follow … with the exception of the final "twist" that I picked up from an explainer.

My main issue with it is that it's fucking bullshit. Watching it deducted from my IQ, I felt like my brain had been wiped.

Other than that I probably prefer it to INCEPTION and INTERSTELLAR for now, the stars are a bit more fashionable and fun, though Branagh was totally awful in it.

Watched a few movies over the weekend.

Extra Ordinary is an Irish horror comedy, although not much horror. Decent enough, more of a make-you-smile than laugh-out-loud funny though.

Blow the Man Down was decent as well, Fargo-like. Had potential to be something more, but after a very promising start it kind of petered out in the end. Still had some good performances, some interesting cinematography and a cool setting.

The Death of Stalin was great. Can't believe I haven't seen it earlier, but I just kind of forgot that it existed. Didn't know Iannucci made it, but several times while watching I thought about how those insults reminded me of Veep. Once I saw his name in the credits it made a lot of sense.

The Death of Stalin is great. I love the little things, like watching the guards as their fate dawns upon them.

I loved that film too! I laughed until it hurt when they tried to roll him back in bed after finding him on the floor in a pool of his own pee.

Not usually a fan of romcoms, but really liked When Harry Met Sally. Billy Crystal's constant mansplaining probably doesn't come off as well today as it did then, but still a good laugh.

For what it's worth, I thought THE DEATH OF STALIN was really average. It had a few decent laughs though.

Seems like it was banned in Russia because they're Stalin-apologist bores, and feted in the US and UK because they're anti-communist bores. I felt like I knew less and not more about the USSR of 1953 after watching it, and found it a smug, self-congratulatory and reactionary work.

Just finished four-hour marathon 'Love Exposure'. Surreal, ludicrous and perverted, I didn't know what I was quite watching but I'm so infatuated after completing it. Sakuro Ando, Takahiro Niishijima, Sion Sono really delivered a cult classic.

the show is mostly dross but her acting was top notch.
