Asterix it was really quite something. I went with my wife, who is even less interested in saccharin musicals, because it was the only thing that matched with the timeframe available for her aunt to watch the baby over Thanksgiving. We tend to use her at least one night so we can see a movie over the fall break.
It blew me away, honestly. Excellent filmmaking, great art direction, solid performances, and excellent use of VFX. I loved it. Even my wife was impressed, and she's extra critical seeing as she's a film editor, animator, and trained VFX artist.
