Sicario2 that's a pretty good question.
My take on it is that though I did see the original as a kid, I only saw it once, so I don't really remember it. I still laughed my way through Friday night. In a way, it might be an advantage not to have remembered or, in your case, seen the original.
I don't know what your mileage is for silly, slightly surreal comedy, but I think you could probably watch this one cold - obviously though, there are callbacks and references to the original.
