but my concern is where do the goals come from other than PEA?

If we are considering Aouar I'd also like de Paul as an alternative in that hybrid #8-#10 role.

Adam Voge on twitter created this nice chart from all the fbref percentile rank comparisons. Partey is definitely top notch but Tchouameni not far.

Of course Locatelli is class as well but no way are we getting him.

Locatelli or Tchouameni would be great. Two players I love watching. And backed up by the data it seems

Don't follow how both Merino and de Paul's pass completion % is so small when the % are not significantly lower to some, and the key passes and npxG+xA are as good as any.

If we're including Tchouameni & Xhaka, we should also include the likes of Camavinga, Gravenberch, Lokonga, Anguissa, Keita, Aouar, MO, Ceballos.

Change PEA for the likes of Vlahovic and we're in the business.

I wonder if we can sneak someone like Locatelli, or is he another that just wants to stay in Italy? I read Juve offered €25m but Sussulo want closer to €40m. If it came down to cash I'm sure we could blow them out the water.

He’s young and a complete B2B. Pay the £40m and don’t look back. I would absolutely love it if he came here.

Barella is the dream and impossible one, but if big sharks don't go for him Locateli would be a phenomenally smart buy

Apart from a few squad options like GK and LB, I think this summer should focus on bringing in a replacement striker while moving on Auba or Lacazette. Ideally someone like Vlahovic.

I don't think we are an attractive option just now to do a lot of business in the summer so reckon we have a better shot in the next window if Arteta can inspire the team up to January with a decent league position (otherwise need to get rid). Also with a delayed World Cup, any player doubts of moving half a season before a tournament are obsolete.

I think Barella is very possible. Inter are in desperate need of money and would probably rather sell him abroad than to Juve. Most other big teams I can think of already have enough midfielders. If there ever was a time to launch a big bid...

For sure. We're one of maybe two English clubs with an excellent reputation in Italy though, and I think wages is also a good way to convince most players. There's a massive difference between England and Italy that can't be overstated.
