Absolutely yes. A high quality creative player is gold dust. Good CMs are far more plentiful than high quality creative players. Someone like Odegaard will lift the team multiple levels. Of course there's a risk that this is a flash in the pan, but we take that risk with all players. Rather buy Odegaard and bring in a work-in-progress CM if required.

This is our KDB-type signing. We cannot turn down the chance if it becomes available. It would be absolute madness. And to be able to have him all of him, Saka, ESR and Pepe on one team developing together. That would be wealth.

Kessie contract expires in a year 2022. I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion if he's the answer. Has anyone seen more of him if he doesn't renew their could be a deal to be done.

He's similar in style to Anguissa. Carries the ball forward alot and extremely box to box. I'm just not sure that's the kind of ideal Partey partner we are looking for.

I personally think we should be looking for a highly technical passer that can break the lines, like Neuheus or the Monaco lad.

Slightly more final third threat than Xhaka. Slightly older. Neither is a big defensive threat. Would rather stick with what we have. I’d take him if Xhaka wasn’t around

Had a huge hand in Pogba’s winner the other day. So at the very least he’d be able to come straight in and sabotage us like half of our current midfield options.

Unlucky to have a nice goal disallowed in the first leg, though.

I'm convinced Caggigao was a self promoting fraud. Named half a dozen players he supposedly signed over the course of 15 years or w/e and yet somehow managed to escape any criticism for our recruitment over the last 10 years. PR genius.

The players consistently associated with him are Lauren, Fabregas, Hleb, Reyes, van Persie, Cazorla, Martinez, Vela, Bellerin and Monreal. So 2-3 superstars and about 6 excellent core players. For the football men and women in the room, is that a good hit rate over 20 years for a scout?

Letting Wenger off the hook there, he's pretty much said "I wanted to sign him before he broke through" about every good player. 😆

It’s sad that even from Wenger’s book, it’s hard to figure out what exactly was broken at Arsenal. Something stopped us from building food squads after around 2008. Even though Wenger overhauled his Invincibles team and took a risk, he still built a bloody good squad again with Rosicky, Cesc etc on the cheap. And then something broke. Was it Caggigao, Wenger, Law, Gazidis or some combination of the above

Caggigao gleefully takes credit for Xhaka so lets just blame him.

To be fair I think we were bloody close at one point. Our team for the 2015 FA Cup final:

That summer we were heavily linked to VVD, but he went to Southampton instead. We were also linked to Dybala, but he went to Juve instead. What did we do? We decided to be the only club in Europe's top 5 leagues not to sign an outfield player.

Personally, as much as I love the guy, I blame that on Wenger. Then we compounded the issue by splashing tons on money the following summer on the likes of Xhaka, Mustafi and Perez. We've been paying for those two summers in particular ever since.
