I wouldn't be opposed to signing a right back and just playing Tomi at CB for that reason, but I do think he might learn to contribute in the final third, he has some power running with the ball, takes up good positions and makes smart decisions with the ball, so there's something to work with, he's still very young as well. I definitely don't think Arteta's the coach to do it, our full backs have been completely ineffective offensively under him no matter who plays, but I guess he doesn't really want that from them anyway, it was him who signed Tomi, a learned CB, for right back after all.

Probably his best position, yeah. I just know that I want him playing if he can stay fit, think he's a cut above every other defender we have, seems the most mature player on the pitch even though he's younger than the rest of the defense. And if we do get Hickey, we'll have someone to contribute in the attack on the other side of the pitch, Odegaard and Saka don't really need help on the right anyway.

Think there is some underating of his ability to contribute to the attacking part of our game. He is comfortable in possession, with both feet as well.

Seem to remember one pretty slcik through ball he did whole he was playing LB in the last few games that almost resulted in a goal. He also had a high % cross and pass completion in the final 3rd those few games since his return and before his injury.

One of my current favs, and maybe I am biased in my appraisal of him, just a shame about his injuries otherwise he'd be one of the first names on the teamsheet for me. He's like Sagna on steriods but with the robustness of van Judas.

In the games where he was let go forward he looked decent. I think he's kept back by design.

Personally think McKennie would be a smart add. He brings physicality and goals, and doesn't demand to be on the ball so we wouldn't be jeopardizing Odegaard's role. Also strikes me as a player that won't struggle with a transition from Italy to England. Would much prefer McKennie to Tielemens for example.

As for Leao, what needs to be said, he looks an absolute terror to defend against. He's a team player and would be a handful for almost any fullback.

Not sure if Martinelli is ready to be a 9, but I don't want to wishlist a 3rd expensive signing, nor do I want to leave Martinelli out of the team as he's ace.

Yeah, Martinelli isn't really good enough to start for us yet. Should be a sub and a rotational player at this stage.

Don't know who that is. Is he a tricky skills type or a direct runner?. I'll search him out on youtube. But I want to give our Martinelli / our young players some backing since they are what I find exciting about the team.

With Bissouma the midfield I think is sturdy and mobile, and the forward line with an Osimhen will be super solid as well.

Little chop and changing early in the season will be pretty key in finding a new effective makeup, so a bunch of roles should be in flux around the 9. Just need to keep Martinelli active even if through cup competitions. His upside is a golden ticket.

Let ESR and Martinelli fight it out in my opinion. Both, as well as Saka have shown a lot of growth this season in terms of output. We just have to gamble on them continuing in that way. The biggest win by far will be getting a proven goal scorer up top, while a few from midfield will also help.
