The midfield that I’m wishlisting is Carlos Alcaraz. Massive talent.
I posted a link to him from football London in the Houseboat thread.

Get some physicality in to it. Hate been bullied by no mark teams.
We're saved - not Jesus but the claim we will invest heavily even if we fail to qualify for the UCL.
Arsenal, who have been linked with 25-year-old Manchester City and Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, will prioritise signing a striker in the summer when they will invest heavily in their squad even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. (Telegraph - subscription required)
It’s clear we’ll invest. We made a move for Vlahovic in January. We seem intent to bring in players we really want hence not going for alternatives in Jan
Hope we get Maddison.

He'd fit the MC model of having twin AM type #8s.

It's not just about investment (we need to do so because we are thin on the ground for a full domestic season, let alone adding any additional comps), but more importantly the claim we will invest heavily in the squad regardless of top4.
I'm hoping this means we bring in CL quality and experience so as to take us to that level. The alternative is to continue to follow the youngster/developing player model as in being the EPL version of RB and BVB.
Unless he's somehow miraculously cheap I don't want to spend huge amounts on a player like him. Would rather buy 2 quality strikers and a CM, and some back up full backs.
We need goals from midfield, Madison fits the bill
no thanks on maddison. can't play him and odegaard together, and we don't want to spend another 40-50m on an attacking to fight for for 1 spot. the club made their call to go with odegaard over maddison last summer, let's move onto other areas. we need someone that can both partner and/or replace partey when he inevitably gets hurt next season
Maddison and Odegaard could easily play together, they both work hard and have some pace to track back. We need someone like Maddison to replace Xhaka so we actually get some contribution in the final third from our second advanced midfielder. A back up for Partey is a completely separate issue which needs addressing, if everyone stays we need at least two midfielders.
So…
Sell/Let go - Lacazette, Nketiah, Torreira, Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, Pepe, Gabriel, Leno, Elneny.
Bring in - Hickey, Molina, Ndicka, Saliba, Danilo, Maddison, new striker, new back up GK, new left sided winger (Diaby)
—————-Ramsdale Molina—Saliba/White—Ndicka-Hickey ——————Partey/Danilo ———-Odegaard—-Maddison Saka———-New ST———-Diaby
That ain't it.
The new ST is Mbappe
A wishlist without the two best players from our back five.
But yeah, Mbappe will do.
Gabriel and Tierney?
Tomiyasu I imagine, he's our best defender, the only worry with him is fitness.
