Think so Clrnc. Cant be all there is to it. Although if they bring him into the fold it'll be easier to call him up for the next few competitive qualifiers to ensure he cant play for another NT.

Flores has always been highly rated, though it is a bit weird that someone gets into the Mexican NT before really breaking into the Arsenal U23 side.

It might have been a late call-up but I don't recall anything about them training at Colney.

Just had a look, and Martinez was drafted in to replace Oscar Ustari, but Argentina played Nigeria in Nigeria (match fixing scandal by the looks of it too!) so it would seem unlikely they trained at Colney.

Actually I would promote him to the first team ahead of Eddie when Auba goes to African cup of Nations. No point investing in Eddie if he will be leaving in 6 months.

Absolutely. Very surprised we just decided to ditch him back into reserves after a first start with not even a hint of a Carabao cup squad place

He should definitely go on loan at the end of the window though. Competitive playing time is vital for him at this stage. He won't get it here once Auba is back. He would have barely played this season. He has shown that he is far too good for the U23s.

while better competition is needed, a striker scoring classy goals and seeing the things he tries come off frequently isn't a bad thing either. can't claim to be rusty.

Is it too early to worry about his development? I'm a bit mystified as to why we haven't sent him on loan - as with Saliba, it feels like half a season wasted in the reserves when he could have been getting proper experience elsewhere.

Seems to be becoming a trend. We should have done much better loaning out players in a season with no CL football. Despite his goal the other day Martinelli should have had a short loan until the new year too. There are other players we've held onto for no good reason too, squads far too big for our needs this season.
