Saka is really coming on well. He's a very good player already, scary to think what might be.
Scary in another way, in that we need to protect him so that he can fulfill is potential. I think Arteta has overplayed him these last few weeks, and I think Pepe needs the game time more. It's bad management, from my perspective. Pepe could've started in that left sided role against Leicester no problem.
I'm less concerned with Nelson and Saliba. For Nelson, he's got to keep his head down and work hard, take the chances that come, and prove himself in training, U23s, etc. For Saliba, he's being protected and I generally trust the club when they actually want to protect a player. Feels like we're usually too cavalier, this is a welcome change.
ESR gets injured too much. It's a problem and could basically put paid to his Arsenal career. Willock seems to competing with half the squad: Ceballos, Partey, Xhaka, Willian, Pepe, Saka, etc. Felt he'd be a good impact sub against Leicester and that should probably be his role in the first team.
I think substitute appearances are going to be pretty important for some of these guys. Arteta can't give it to them just for the sake of it, though. They have to convince him they can make a difference. That's where Arteta's "conservatism" has frustrated me the most.
