In fairness I suspect part of the reason Balogun has been kept away from the first team is due to his contract situation, bit like Sancho at City.

But yeah, I don't see how you can say he's levels above anyone without ever seeing him play outside of youth football.

Based on what I have read from Journos who write about youth football, TJJ is a more rounded forward while Balogun is an out and out goalscorer.

A big concern about TJJ is his injuries.

His loan spell was cut short last season because of an injury and apparently he is back again at London colney for treatment.

He's more rounded but I don't see anything outstanding in his game, I feel like you need to look outstanding at youth level to really be in with a shot at the top and I don't think that's ever been the case with him. Bendtner for example looked 3 times the player.

I also feel if you're going on loan to a 3rd tier club at 19 it's not a great sign.

For a bet like that you need to add on at what level/league.

Afobe has some 80+ goals in his career, though almost all have been in the Championship. Does that count for more than Nketiah's haul in the premier leauge?

Premier league or equivalent in big european leagues (you know which ones) and internationals (from full adult team) and Champions League/Europa League.

Edit: Also includes domestic cup comps (as long as they are playing for a team in the top division at the time).

I’ll never forget Bergkamp pleading that the reason he needed a raise in his latter years was cos he had to feed his kids. And then he had his testimonial and came out with a whole squad of them and I understood where he was coming from.

A bit of ineptness at the reserve level after we named a single goalkeeper in the match squad against Man City.

Just as things go, our starting goalkeeper got sent off and a U18 defender (Foran) had to make his reserves debut playing as a goalkeeper and stand in for 80+ minutes.

We were duly thrashed 4-1 and are in real danger of getting relegated.

deserves some questioning, that.

Bould hasn't been great since he took over the U23, has he? Then again it can't be easy when so many players disappear and you have to dip into the U18 team. I read somewhere (it might've been Jeorge Bird who wrote it) that we only have like eight players that are U23 exclusives. The rest are either regulars in the first team, out on loan, or younger lads who get picked out of the academy. I'm sure that's why we just signed two eighteen year olds this summer.

True, it is not easy to manage such a thin squad with so many U18's players coming in.

Still you dont want to get relegated as it deprives the reserves the chance of playing against quality opposition sides
