Why is this summer ideal? We're broke, have no money and are struggling to sell our own players.

It's not like Edouard is someone who'd otherwise be out of reach and as you say yourself they'd want big money for him.

Not Edouard in particular but generally speaking. For example I don't think we'd be in for Aouar if this was a normal transfer window. Maybe Partey would have been snapped up by now as well.

As a club we like most clubs might be broke but our owners certainly aren't.

The problem, JazzG, is all these things are interrelated.
We too have less money due to the lack of fans in stands and reduced TV contracts. In addition, we are struggling to offload any of our players because most clubs around Europe are struggling financially and many are probably at/near bankruptcy. The only way to get around these things is with artificial stimuli. The whole system needs a big kick, the same way you would give the larger economy a big kick with a government rescue package

That’s hilarious. Would take Morata up to 2nd all time in accumulated transfer fees just ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo just because teams keep trying to get rid of him. And most of that would be due to Real and Juve dealings.

He is young, English, scored loads of goals in youth football and Liverpool know how to sell their youngsters at a premium price.

In this case, Palace desperately need a striker.
Wickham, Benteke and on-loan Batushayi is not a strike force you want to go in with.

Doubt it will be £25m anyway. There'll be some sort of funding formula, probably more like 15-17 guaranteed.
