Apparently their trustworthy sources (Melissa Reddy / James Pearce) only report what has been fed to them by the club hierarchy.

I wonder if Liverpool themselves wanted to drum up some interest in the player and drive his price up.
Sheffield United and Villa have also been interested in him along with Palace.

In a bit of a strange development, Crystal Palace's Norwegian Striker Alexander Sorloth who looked nailed on to join RB Leipzig was a no show for his scheduled medical today and later cancelled his travel plans.

Now apparently an English club has trumped Leipzig with a bigger offer rumored to be either Tottenham or Manchester United.

Sky Sports have now reworded their story to say that 'Palace are interested in the player' instead of 'submitted a bid for the player'.
