I think CR7 would give them a much needed "mental" boost for the UCL and might be able to control Mbappe's ego better.

I really don't like Chelsea and Liverpool going after Ben White. From what I've seen of him he could be an England regular in the near future. He's got some development left to do but he's a classy, calm player. I was hoping Brighton would hold on to him for a while.

The fee Brighton are demanding is huge for a player who has zero premier league experience though.

The talks say that they are looking for something close to 30+ million (fee upfront + bonuses).

David Silva seems to be very close to joining Lazio on a free transfer.

Him and Luiz Alberto alongside Milinkovic-Savic would be tasty midfield.

Would you rather have White than Gabriel Klaus? Just curious.

It seems that Chelsea think that White is more worth it for a 30-40m pound bid than Ake was.

I haven't seen Gabriel play aside from Youtube comps so I can't make that comparison, but I do think White is going to be a very good player. He's a bit like Chambers come think of it. Not quite as good technically but better in the air and calmer on the ball, and similarly able to play on the flank.

Chelsea has Pedro and William leaving on a free.

Do we look at arsenal so hard for not being able to sell at right time and its always alive in the media or is it just that Chelsea doesn't care and hence media doesn't.

Pedro is old and out of favour at Chelsea. Willian is important for them but past it and they have already signed better players anyway, even if he stayed he would have been a bench player.

Do you really think that's the same as having Auba, Alexis, RVP out of contract for example?

Our players have left on a free in their prime. That's the issue, not leaving on a free when they're at an age where they wouldn't get much money for them anyway.

Arsenal fans got what they asked for with Alexis. I remember the massive outrage when we sold Nasri and then van Persie. The sentiment then was that we should not have sold to a rival under any circumstances. Also fees were so inflated that summer that the Alexis money would have bought you some magic beans (or Lemar for 90m), so I get holding onto him.

I think losing Ramsey on a free is the only really stupid one, especially given how it all transpired.

It's twisting things to suggest Alexis would have only got Lemar for 90m.

The club publicly said he was not for sale all summer to bend over and accept 55m on the last day.
