If they're interested in Koulibaly they should imo go for Skriniar instead. He's as good, 4 years younger and probably cost similar money as well.

Agree that there are better defenders in Italy than Koulibaly right now. Skriniar's partner De Vrij is criminally underrated for instance. I think he's Holland's best defender all things considered. I would take him over van Dijk if I was given a free pick.

I do think Koulibaly fits City better though. He's pushing up ridiculously high in every game, and he costs Napoli points occasionally when he loses the ball because the opposition has a free go at a decimated defence. His passing game is vintage though, just fantastic. For a team like City it's like having an extra unmarked midfielder, and they're well equipped to exploit that advantage.

I’m really pissed that the City case was was mishandled and dismissed. My City supporting mates accuse me of being a hater. But I believe that City are a threat to sporting fairness and the economic survival of all teams. They are singe-handedly causing player price inflation. And teams are forced to expand their squads to compete and pay the ‘going rate’ for players. I’m proud that Arsenal is trying to stand up to them and Guardiola can eat shit with his comments. We need a sustainable footballing universe. A team where the sheikh can pay whatever he wants for players and plug the gaps with his family’s companies is the definition of cheating.

The issue with a potential move for Koulibaly is that he no longer wants to leave Napoli and will not actively push for a move.

That leaves City in a very hard position to negotiate with De Laurentis who will demand a fee in region of Maguire/Van Djik.

The situation was very different six months ago when the the dressing room was in mutiny and most of the senior players wanted to leave.

Massive credit to Gattusso as he was able to turn it around and convince most of the characters to back him (Mertens, Insigne, Fabian Ruiz and Koulibaly).

Jimenez would be a great signing for them. They need a top class CF. They’ve been free scoring recently if they pick up Jimenez & Sancho they’re attack will be right up there.

DM and CB are their more desperate needs. If they are thinking of tossing 150m+ on attack, what kind of budget do they have for this summer?

Chelsea signed Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner and is probably getting Havertz.

While we are linked with Zaha and hope Willock, ESR comes good. Despite already being miles away. Sounds about right

Jimenez is probably an “Ole” signing. He would recognise the benefits of having a variety of strikers, the same as Fergie.

Surprised that United fans seem against the signing.

Jimenez in between Sancho/martial/greenwood screams goals to me.

We passed up the opportunity to sign Hazard. Chelsea paid £32m in 2012. After he’d won league titles and player of the year gongs at Chelsea he was able to attract a few of £89m with up to £60m in add-ones in 2019.

So do you not think players need more than one season to prove their worth? They should rather get rid of Mou than him.

Joses alienating tendencies to one side, claudius is right. When a player is clearly a misfit, move him on. Im racking my brain for a player we've bought in the last 5 years that was average/poor in their first season but improved drastically in their second. I can only think of guys that got worse over time

You would also have to rack your brain to come up with any signings from the last five years who were world class talents when we bought them. He's also two years younger than Pépé, who only came into his own last season.
