My realistic prediction from the remaining games, barely scraping safety.

if we don't beat Brighton in the upcoming fixtures, he has to be sacked immediately. if there was a relegation klaxon it would definitely be sounding at that point

I don’t really care about relegation klaxon. I’m disgusted by our position and results trend. That should be more than enough for this cat to walk. Hopefully, the only thing keeping him in a job is incomplete negotiations with his successor

I want him to go now, but i'm speaking from the kroenkes perspective. losing to other relegation candidates has to get their bum squeaking loud enough to drown out all the 'long term project' talk

Tranch of money for who? With no CL for the foreseeable future, no Europe at all and possibly not even Premier League next season, what is our selling point to anyone serious? Come and play with Xhaka and Willian? We'll be waiting behind Chelsea's bins again to see what they throw out when they get their shiny new toy.

Yep. Avoiding relegation shouldn't be applauded, neither should a midtable finish. Tbh anything less that European football should be a sacking for any Arsenal manager.

I predict we'll see a significant turnaround in results in the second half with or without Arteta moving on. We won't be good at all but we'll go on a couple of mini-runs, pick up thirty points, which will mean doing twice as well as we've done to date.

I don't see us turning things around whilst this rotten player core remains in place, regardless of who the manager is or isn't.

I don't see the club regaining top4 whilst the inexperienced structure remains in situ.

I'm not talking about us getting top four, Anzac. That's not in our future for years at best. I'm talking about us recording 30 points for the remainder of the season to finish with 45 or 50 points all told.

The club's crisis has been slow, like climate change, we've already been in it for a decade.

Neither was I, although I was talking of a top half / UEFA challenge.

IMO this core of players is our millstone / albatross / elephant in the room / cancer etc. No real progress is possible until this tumor is removed.

All three of those players are up this summer. We are not going to receive compensation for them from other teams and they are largely taking up space.

Xhaka, Lacazette, Willian on the other hand should be told to start looking for new teams as they are not part of the new direction. The first two players' contracts expire in 2022. The third player - this is the problem with a free transfer. Otherwise I'd exercise the money back guarantee from Chelsea.

Would you trust Arteta to deliver that sort of message without completely destroying the dressing room, its bad enough as it is. Say that to Willian less than 6 months after signing him and you just piss Luiz off more, who do they have on their side, Gabriel and Martinelli maybe? Laca is very close with Auba, the french contingent were already reportedly pissed off about how he threw Pepe under the bus and the Saliba and Douzi situations are there too. Xhaka has been around a long time and is constantly referred to as a dressing room leader. Arteta has built himself a house of cards that makes dealing with these things very difficult.

This same squad, arguably a bit weaker even got 70 points and an EL final not even two years ago and that was considered a failure. The rotten players aren't the issue here.
