FEBravo he'd be great for Palace or West Ham.
FEBravo thats sort of the level I see him at too. Which is why I'm comfortable with him as a squad option.
Meatwad yeah says something about our options but it says something about our supply to those options too. Don't think we are doing well by our CFs.
If you are shit at least make yourself useful.
Terrible sub performance, shit body language and couldn’t hold the ball up properly.
What use does he have when he doesn’t score? Any striker the from promoted teams can ‘work hard’.
He’s not a bad player but he’s not great. We need a great player up top to be where we want to be. He’s also a bad fit stylistically and therefore he’s erratic.
He can fill that Ivan Toney shaped hole at Brentford
no he can't. brentford need a striker that can hold the ball up.
He has so many of such matches where he has no meaningful touches or pass. Arteta is so ruthless in positions that don't even have a problem, not sure why we are persisting with him
Giroud used to make us long for the days of Henry. Nketiah makes me long for the days of Giroud.
Burnwinter Giroud was incredibly underrated.
Burnwinter
I always say the grass isn't always greener. We were greeted with David Luiz after Mustafi.
I used to moan about Adebayor, and then slow paced VP came along who I never liked despite being an exceptional finisher and technician. Then Giroud came and made me pine for VP. Then came Lacazette who wasn't an upgrade on Giroud and following him is Jesus who is arguably the most talented of the lot but may be the lowest scoring of the bunch.
I’d rather Lacazette
He brings absolutely nothing to the team at the moment. No where near good enough for Arsenal.
On track for another 4-5 league goal/season
Gunner89 he's actually on track for an 8 goal season unless something big changes.
Qwiss Not by you and me, though, but by everyone else more or less.
Don’t think Giroud was:is underrated. He was rated exactly as he should be. His trouble was he wasn’t always the best fit for the style we tried to play at various points in his time with us and he wasn’t in the bracket we’d ideally see line up for us. Henry, Bergkamp, RvP…

Don’t think he was that underrated with us, at times he was a shower of shit - ie 2nd half of 2015/2016 when he didn’t score a single goal or that dreadful game v Monaco when he couldn’t score in a month of Sundays.
However, since leaving us he improved big time and is a big game player. His CV and career highlights since leaving us really speaks for itself.
Giroud was incredibly frustrating. He was good when he was on form but abysmal when he wasn't. There would be long periods of the season where he'd spend half the game on the floor appealing for a free kick after being outmuscled. There were other periods where he's holding defenders off and popping off lovely first time passes.
Whether you underrate him or overrate him depends on which of those phases of the season you remember.
Giroud was underrated. For example gooners were convinced Lacazette would be a major upgrade on Giroud, when both statistically and as it turned out, he wasn't going to be. The Giroud of a decade ago would be a great option for us currently. He'd probably be loved by Arteta too.
daredevil There's been a general decline in the role all told, I guess it is less important in the modern game but it seems there are fewer superb out and out strikers these days, and the concept of the "strike partnership" is almost dead.
daredevil Jesus who is arguably the most talented of the lot but may be the lowest scoring of the bunch
I don't think that's true. People forget that he missed 1/3 of the season last year. If he didn't, he'd have been on course to score 17 league goals from memory, and that's without taking pens.
As a second choice striker, Nketiah doesn't hold a candle to Kanu, Wiltord, Bendtner, Welbeck, Chamakh and co.
daredevil Most of those players arrived at Arsenal/were promoted within around age 24 (e.g. Kanu around 23, Chamakh around 27, not sure about Bendtner) all with about 90+ prior senior appearances. Nketiah is 24 now with around 90+ senior appearances (many when we were a poor team, and several where he played wide). I'd say if anyones going to choose to compare Nketiah against those players, to do so based on what he does at a comparable development stage i.e. this season/next (if he's around).
daredevil he's better than Welbeck and Chamack. Probably Bendtner too.
I was with you till you got to Bendtner and Chamakh
