This boy might actually work. Both of his goals have been tremendous. Yesterday he moved like a panther first on the ball, and bang. It looked like an easy goal but it was the movement prior to the shit that makes it. A bit like the West Ham goal. When Eddie sees White with the ball, he intentionally goes off to find his man, creating a triangle for Ode. He feels his man, one hand after the other so he doesn’t foul him, and the rolls him so hard that he’s two meters away by the time he shoots.
Nobody else on our team has the instincts to do these things. Yesterday’s goal is classic Eddie, but West Ham is him adding classic Eddie to Mikel’s rondos. And that’s why he’s here and guys like Pépé aren’t. He’s learning our game.
