Be interesting to know what sort of conversations Arteta is having with Eddie behind the scenes - if any. No way he's going to stay and be #3 striker - and why should he now? But, if we do make the CL, he will get games even as a #2 striker. I think he's earned that, at least. And he has now shown that he is more than just a 6 yard box poacher, so he's not the risk he seemed six months ago when Arteta's only use for him was a nuclear "we really need a goal" option.
That said, I am getting slight, Ainsley at the end of 2020 season, vibes about the situation. Like Eddie has this year, Ainsley came in, did a good job, we got offers for him, rejected them and then didn't play him. So I wonder if Eddie might have that in his mind - he's been very clear that he just wants to play.
