Unfortunately he's probably smart enough to know that if we sign a big name striker his mins will once again be limited to mins off the bench and cup games. But hoping maybe an undisputed 2nd choice role, the chance of playing in the CL (if we make it) and cup mins will win him over.
Wait. What? Based on this one performance? Against that shitty Chelsea defence? Why are we begging Eddie Nketiah? He did well, but he isnât my own standard even for back up striker in an Arsenal champions league team. More like 3rd string. Or What are we talking about here?
Listen if nothing else, that's a ÂŁ20m+ asset going out on a free. Then you have to factor in that if he leaves we'd have to spend a similar amount on a likely substandard replacement, funds which could be used on the main man. Â
And it's not based on one game, I've been saying for a while that in the ideal world we convince Eddie to stay. Though the ÂŁ92m man barely got a touch against this shitty Arsenal defence, so his performance yesterday deserves credit. He was good against Southampton too.
