It doesn't really matter to Newcastle if his contract expires in 4 months or 4 years. They need him now, so it's a good deal for them. If we get a proper striker in it's a good deal for us as well (although that's not taking into consideration that we've tanked his value by holding onto him).

I'm forgetting that we could get a similar amount in compensation if he joined an English club in the summer, too.

I still think he will end the day at Newcastle.

It will probably take Newcastle offering significantly more than the _£10m we can expect to receive in the summer via compensation (providing he joins an English club).

I think we're better off keeping Eddie, assuming we're being offered peanuts. Hope he signs a new deal or gamble we'll get something in a tribunal. We're too light up top not to keep him unless we sign a forward.

He had a better performance than Laca for the past half a year.

And also he has a better goal per min ratio than Lacazette this season. The bar is not high but if you didn't watch the match you shouldn't bump up a thread just to suit your agenda.

We should have sold him for the past 3 windows and I agree he is not good enough but when Laca is our striker that is the main problem

As I said there are other ways to replace Laca.

I’ve seen enough of Eddie to know he is shit. Shouldn’t be in the squad, should have been sold last summer.

He's got 5 goals in 500 minutes this season. Lacazette has 6 goals in 2200 minutes or so.

He was actually good today, the difference was telling. If we give him the 20-25 starts that Laca has had I'm sure he'd beat the one-goal-per-400-minutes standard that has been set.

He's Championship level or lower. Lacazette is worse , neither of those have any business leading the line at Arsenal.

We’re counting goals v league 1 (or 2) Sunderland and other league cup goals. Ok bro.

If you honestly think Eddie is good enough for us then I have nothing more to say.

He will be playing for Burnley/Watford next season.
