The other issue is that he never produced much on the actual pitch to set him apart from his contemporaries. There are no United fans who long for Guendouzi when they have McTominay, no Chelsea fans who'd rather have him than Mount or Gilmour. There's a difference between playing a lot of games at an early age and playing well, and it often gets blurred when people get excited over the former.
We got him cheap because he was a problem kid and it's only fair that we let him go cheap in return too. Getting twice of what we paid for him would be decent business in this market. Let someone else have a crack at him after that. The value isn't there and we can't be stuck haggling over a few million when we have a squad to put together and very little time to do it.
