Thanks. Agree with my push that Pellegrini is the Serie A guy to get to link our midfield. I think he’d be dynamite here. I hope they make a move like that. It amazes me to see us linked to every scrub on Roma and not him.

I hope we start to see a bit more movement next week. All the stories and rumours from the last few days have been terrible and certainly nothing seems remotely close.

In fairness I don’t thinks it’s necessarily our fault, this seems like it will be a strange market. Clubs wants to sell buy no one can afford to buy, clubs want to buy but can’t afford the fees, but they still need to find a way to get where we want to with the squad.

Agreed I hope things pick up. Likely irrational but the Willian signing doesn't really excite me, and Aubameyang's future is undetermined 4 weeks till restart. No permanent outbounds still. Several tantalizing rumors. Based on what Josh, Raul, Edu did last window though I am relatively calm to anticipate.

We have only spend 20m or more on 10 players. Considering that it's actually quite a miracle we have managed to compete for top 4 for so long. Out of this list only 2 can be considered success while 3 others are still too early to judge

If we don't have the money to buy top quality to close the gap via the transfer market, then IMO it is imperative we at least sign the type of players we need in order to provide a balanced squad that is fit for purpose, to be able to close the gap on the pitch and to win the UEL.

Still three deals to be done in Gabriel, Partey and Ceballos. It has gone very quiet on the last two. Would be ideal to get our targets in before the 12th of September 2020 but looking like we will drag this window out right up to close which is a little annoying.

Always better to start the season with a settled squad. Wish I could just go to bed and wake up on the 5th of October 2020. It's an extremely busy time at work and my promotion outcome falls due at the end of next month. In an ideal world, I wake up on the 5th with us having three wins from three on the board, new signings nicely bedded in, me promoted and my project completed with zero hiccoughs. Instead I'm on course for the most stressful two months of my life (with Arsenal making it just a little worse).

We are potentially slowed down by Sanllehi’s departure. It appears he was handling some negotiations end to end, excluding even the contracts guru. We might also have a pivot post-Sanllehi. Maybe we drop some pursuits, and focus on others. The Partey deal is definitely one I’m in 2 minds about given his age profile. He has so many desirable skills but is yet another player with no residual value.

If we're that skint we can't stump up for Partey's release clause without needing to sell, then Aouar doesn't make sense unless OL are desperate to sell players and we could land a bargain - I just don't see it as yet.

Whilst he'd be a brilliant signing along with the likes of Partey, I wonder if the links to Partey, Aouar/Coutinho, Ceballos are as much to get PEA to sign as anything else, and if we'd be better off to secure players who fit what we need and we can balance the match day squad?
