In about 20mins of footage, I've seen him touch the ball once with his right foot.

How is his reading of the game? That's the most important aspect of defending. Stopping dangerous situations before they even happen.

Excellent in anticipation and interception. He reminds me of a stronger Koscielny.

Gabriel + Saliba would be insane partnership for the next decade, but seeing every top club wants him I doubt we have any chance, let alone the balls to go for him

He's done very well in La Liga this season. Might actually be a nice complement to our kid Saliba. He's a little older (27), so any purchase would be without a view towards value accretion. But he's a built like an ox, great on recovery runs and an excellent old-school tackler. 1 or 2 drawbacks might be - he's not commanding in the air like Ramos, and he's not an incredible playmaker. He's good enough to pass it out comfortably but won't be shaping the offence from the back.

Get him because he is aggressive and allows us to play a compact high line. Don't get him because of his age and average aerial ability.

Madrid based radio station saying Real Madrid are very happy with how Dani Ceballos season at Arsenal has been and are willing to let him join Arsenal on another season loan.

Does make you think a bit more deeply about the whole team. Kounde is an incredible talent. He’s also short at 5’11” and not massively dominant in the air.

I think this is what you have to believe if you want Kounde. That Arteta is going to build a possession based team that will defend by having the ball. We will want to play out from the back and will benefit from having a central defender with a midfielders ball skills and tactical awareness. His passing ability and range is second to none. His comfort on the ball and running with and without the ball is up there with AMN. And he tackles well. If we defend via possession, then we don’t have to worry about facing too many crosses and set pieces as is the case now.
