Apply the same attitude to JRA, Malen and Bennaccer and they will be thinking what’s the point, they could just go elsewhere get playtime, not get hassled by fans for developing and learning the game and then move on to a bigger club.

I think we generally are supportive, and that Guendouzi is a special case. Because he's gotten as much playing time as he has, people have been criticizing him simply as a starter rather than how people usually judge players his age.

Iwobi has max criticism, that’s fair. I was annoyed. He was one of our own but never treated as such. I’m glad he got tons of time, and then we sold him. He got a fair shot. It’s not like the 3 that annoy me.

People should watch our matches back this season. Guendouzi is easily our best midfielder in the first part of the season especially. He was absolutely outstanding against Spurs for example

I don't think that's accurate, or if it is then it's mostly because our midfielders were so terrible on the whole. Douzi had some decent moments but he was as bad as the rest of them, especially when he had to play deeper and move the ball quickly. Bloke is a four-touch player, and that in itself is much more worrying than any tactical immaturity he has shown. You wonder if he'll ever be a good fit for Premier League.

People have their favourites and shit on those who aren't. We expect massively, from someone who is essentially learning the game, and then go hard on them when they aren't able to perform at that standard as they're still learning their role, so then they get dropped / value drops etc. Why would they put themselves under that pressure, when they can go develop elsewhere, with less scrutiny.

So the only other option is to loan them out. But how many successful loans have we had for young players? Once they're loaned out it's more likely their Arsenal career is over.

How much panelbeating does this need in 2022? If you have this as a shell looking out exactly two years, what moves would you need to make to get it ready to really compete? Are we talking 3 or 4 players or an entire squad?

This question will lead to interesting feedback.

For me, you will need a new right back, a center back to replace Holding, a DM to replace Torreira (Partey), and a DLP to replace Nelson.

There are still question marks elsewhere, but for me those are priority.

Some will mention Tierney especially with the injuries thus far, but I feel there is a good player there who needs a run of games.

I mean there's a lot of question marks in that XI. Arguably the only one in there that's really proven he's up to it is Leno. That being said, there's not many in there that I'd be actively looking to replace. I think just 1 really top class midfielder will do wonders for this side, 2 could transform it.

I think two outstanding midfielders and a top central defender put that team in a superb position. That's actually work that can be done within the next 3 transfer windows if we work aggressively.

I have question marks over 80% of that first 11, and that's even extrapolating for potential upside. I'd want to replace around 5 of those players between now and 2022

If Saka signs the new deal and be smart to know he is a LB, Tierney will have a serious fight on his hands.

Saka stats at LB is pretty decent.

He has enough of a resume with celtic for me to give him a chance, assuming his health issues are behind him. saliba hasnt competed a full season in france yet, so im not sure where the comparison is on that front

Martinelli would also deserve a question mark when it comes to leading the line over a season.

I’d put Guendouzi over Nelson in central midfield and AMN or Tutu over Bellerin at RB.
