According to rumours Barca were open to sell us Umtiti in January but the player rejected a move to Arsenal. It's unclear if this happened before, during or after our pursuit of Mari.

I'm not sure if I believe those rumours considering Barca's squad is like 19 people at the moment, but if true I think we dodged a bullet.

I think the only sensible way forward with Umtiti is a loan with option to buy, or grabbing him once he's out of contract. Far too much of a risk with his health otherwise.

From what I read, the Trincao move has Jorge Mendes hands all over it.

30 million for a player who played 20 odd games in his career so far is too much.
