Bit of a stretch calling it a success when he only got one point against Bournemouth during that week, but I don't reckon it's fair to demand a massive change in fortune under the circumstances either. He's doing the same thing Ljungberg did, which is improving us bit by bit by trying to put some confidence back into our football. Not sure there's anything else you can do at the moment. I can't remember seeing a team stripped so completely of any collective quality.
Today was a real missed opportunity though, and Arteta will have to take that on board and learn quickly from the mistakes. We couldn't win the game, that's fair enough, but there's no way it's acceptable to lose it when you lead up until the 83rd minute when Chelsea score with their first shot on target. We're starting to really need the points now, and not just to make sure we're playing in Europe next season but also to avoid the added pressure of a relegation battle.
