Having a team where in a game versus a Leeds or Southampton, your worst possible choice is Tierney and not Cedric or Kolasinac is exactly where we want to be as a club for our main rotation if we want to win tings.
The key here isn’t really about having a bigger squad. It’s about having better players and more flexible options. Now you can put Xhaka in 3 positions in our basic 433. Tomi in 3. Same with Jesus, White, Saka, ESR, Zinchenko, and Vieira. This makes a rotation of 16 or so serious players look much bigger than it is. I imagine future additions will be similarly flexible. No more Holding and Giroud types.
