IMO if that were to be the case then we'd have f*cked up royally as we need 2 summers to get things right in regards to signings.
Firstly to regain top4/UCL qualification, and then secondly (and perhaps even more importantly), to then improve the squad in terms of both quality and depth so as to not only then have the depth/numbers to play in the UCL, but most importantly to retain top4 whilst doing so.
IMO the strategy for this summer should be about having a spine that is fit for purpose to achieve top4/UCL, and then next summer will be about the fine tuning of the starting XI in regards to those positions we do not address this summer, and adding depth beyond the Match Day squad.
