Iwobi's price would have been the same next season, it wasn't far fetched to bet on that unless we wanted to balance the books now, but we reportedly made a £60 Mn bid for Upamecano.

The same people who think the kids are ready will be abusing them for points their performances may cost us. Saka barely got a look in, in pre season. Nelson is so far from being ready. Martinelli is coming from the lower divisions of Brazilian football. Premier League football is such a different animal.

i expect we are going to play with a front 3 of auba, laca and pepe, with pepe nailed to the right side and auba/laca alternating between LW/ST. nelson will get time at LW, and mkh will get time at RW.

the issue is that if we are starting both laca and auba, we dont really have a natural striker to bring off the bench late in games. martinelli surely isnt ready for that role.

We only have two strikers in the entire squad, and they will be starting. Beyond that we have Pepe, Mkhi and then? Three rookies.

In Nelson's case, he's as highly rated as CHO is. He's got a spot wide open for him now and I'm confident he'll take it. Iwobi didn't, and if we kept him around these kids would get fed up eventually and decide to leave due to a lack of playing time.

We as a club need to be a hell of a lot more ruthless, we can't just be sentimental all the time. Need to start acting like a big club and if players don't work out, when a good offer comes in move them on. We are getting £40m for him so our investment in him has paid off. I agree ideally he would have made it here but a few flashes here or there isn't good enough. If he proves us wrong fair enough but as long as we reinvest the money wisely I don't see a problem. We've got some great youngsters coming through so this is their chance as well to step up now.

Why would he need to be that? I'd say the same if we sold Bellerin or Holding. It's about options, and Iwobi is an important one as we're severely lacking in wingers.

I personally dont feel Iwobi leaving will be as big a miss as you do. He does some nice things here and there with no real end product and not a ton of assists either. I don't mind his minutes going to someone like Nelson.
