Didn't realize the deadline was 5pm tomorrow. Hasn't it always been midnight? Love those late night deadline day airings.
Deadline Day thread (Arsenal + Non Arsenal)

Surely worth more than £30m.
Or just use Nelson, Martinelli and Saka who will all surpass Iwobi in no time.
Keep Iwobi. Get Up. No Cou.
LOL 30m for Iwobi.. GTFO. as Captain said, start with 50m and we'll open a dialog. I would, however, take 30m for Mhki
I'll take 40m for iwobi and put it in the defender fund
No club, least of all us, opens with the highest amount they're willing to pay. We wouldn't open with a higher bid than 30m for an Iwobi of a different club either.

Great, once they do we call sell Iwobi for more than £30m.
Everton fans up in arms on Twitter urging their club not to buy him. Other than some gooners, no one seems to rate Iwobi.
Iwobi managed the same number of assists last season as both Silvas at City, and he played less minutes in a worse side.
Would it be worth including a buy-back for Iwobi?
Say 20-25m more than whatever we sell him for.

I think thats what we should do with ESR. Sell him for €20-25m with a double your money buy back clause.

Everton have made a shock £30m move for Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi.
Everton’s offer, understood to be an initial £25m with the rest made up of add-ons, has been rejected by Arsenal. [@AdrianJKajumba]
Don't think he would leave even if we accept the bid.
Don't want us to sell Iwobi. He is a versatile hard working forward who has shown potential and who doesn't complain.
What do people see in iwobi that we can't do without?
25m plus add ons? GTFO.
A viable option at left wing.

He was our best attacking mid last season. Works hard, helps the midfield out, good feet, takes people on, strong, creative enough and its an area thats improving, quickish, young, not on way too much money.
He's exactly the sort of player we should be keeping rather than Ozil, Mhki, etc There is a reason no one is offering anything for those 2.
Watford to sign Welbeck on free transfer. #afc
Weleeee
He's just turned 23 too, about to hit his peak years. I reckon he could really take a step forward this season. If not, we can always sell him next year or two once the likes of Nelson and co. have had a chance to develop.

This guy seems like such an amateur muppet.

Yeah, rival fans are idiots. What else is new?
I don't see the point in selling Iwobi at this stage, that isn't the same as saying he's world class. Iwobi a good squad player on manageable wages, he'll keep his value till next summer if we do want to cash in once (and only once) our younger players potentially surpass him. There's no point getting hyped up on potential at this stage because when Iwobi first broke through we were saying exactly the same thing about him.
Plus £30m is really insignificant in the scheme of things, it won't even free up that much in terms of wages.
Maybe the journalists are all slighlty behind the pace at which everything moves as per usual, and we moved for Coutinho a few days back because Everton had made a move for Iwobi?
Iwobi out would only make sense if we were about to upgrade to a Zaha, which seems unlikely at this stage.

Ryan Fraser has more assists than all of them. I wouldn't take him over the Silvas.

Look at the goals City score. The guy who makes the killer pass rarely gets the assist because they always cut it back to someone else for a tap-in.
Coutinho is a better player than Iwobi currently but he isn't an Arsenal boy. He will come on loan for a year and we won't see him again in an Arsenal shirt I reckon. I really hope we don't sell Iwobi.
£30m for Iwobi is cool. You put that towards the Upamecano fund and improve your area of weakness, knowing that you have a plethora of options in the position Iwobi occupies.
If we can get 40M for Iwobi and Coutinho on loan for under 10M, I'd do that in a heartbeat. Will add 30M to the Upamecano fund and give Nelson / Saka / ESR a year to grow into the role.
40m + 10m add ons and I will bite for Iwobi. Use that money to get Upamecano this window and Coutinho on loan with an option to buy.
Next summer sell Ozil to MLS and Mkhi to wherever, get Everton in if he's still doing well. Perfect

Rubbish source with this prat from the Sun (pushed the chopped up quotes of Josh Kroenke to stir shit up), but I hope he has some accurate information here.
Plethora of options? We have 3 guys who’ve played about 5 mins of senior football between them and Mkhi who is reaching Mustafi levels of diabolical.
Ozil, Ceballos, Nelson, Mkhitaryan, Saka, Pepé, Martinelli, Lacazette and Aubameyang (if stretched).
What are our options at CB? Sokratis and an injured Holding. Upamecano is a far greater need than keeping Iwobi.
Jed wrote:knowing that you have a plethora of options in the position Iwobi occupies.
We don't.
Jed wrote:Ozil, Ceballos, Nelson, Mkhitaryan, Saka, Pepé, Martinelli, Lacazette and Aubameyang (if stretched).
Ozil, Ceballos, Mkhi, Pepe and Laca don't play on the left.
Nelson, Saka and Martinelli would most likely give us less this season than Iwobi.
Aubameyang could play there, but he'll also be needed centrally in some games.
Looks like this could be done. No wonder Coutinho is coming
Jed wrote:Ozil, Ceballos, Nelson, Mkhitaryan, Saka, Pepé, Martinelli, Lacazette and Aubameyang (if stretched).
Yeah, no. Martinelli and Saka are still very unproven, Nelson did less hoffenheim than Iwobi did at Arsenal - where's the logic?
What is Iwobi's position anyway? It can't be left winger, he himself has said as much.
