Never thought I’d see the day United would lose out to Spurs.
Happy enough with Luiz and Tierney. At least we’ll be able to pass out the back.

So what would be the purpose at this stage of entertaining offers for Iwobi?
Shame about Dybala hes class but very difficult to accommodate
Cant see him go there still, expect this to fall through
Don't like Luiz for his antics but willing to let bygones be bygones. Also he's an improvement on crocked Kos
Whether he turns out to be a good signing or bench player we're 100% weakening Chelsea, they lost two centre halves and got none. And for 8m too
goon wrote:So what would be the purpose at this stage of entertaining offers for Iwobi?
Uppermekkahnoh lad
Musti and iwobi out, dayot me say daaaayot in
Or Iwobi for Zaha - do it for Doolsie. Ricky got his man why can’t Dools
Luiz is a great signing we needed someone good on the ball, older and with prem experience. It's a low fee for a solid buy.
Rugani I'm no sure about, I feel like he's failed potential probably on relatively high wages and from a big club. The total cost of the deal will probably be very high for what were pretty sure will be a player who's never going to be good enough. I'd rather we tried to get Upamecano in 6 months or a year.
HomeSteak wrote:Only a 2 year deal, that's good. Also 8 milion is nothing. Basically we got Kos out and Luiz in for almost the same money.
Oh well. Can't have everything you want in life I suppose.
Let's hope he doesn't cost us goals galore and go back to Chelsea as a technical director.
Getting Zaha vibes

Or do a keita style deal. Overpay a little bit now and lock him down for next season, ala saliba. Defenders of this dimension don't grow on trees
flobaba wrote:I mean I get the need to feel like we got a good deal post Kos, but... newsflash: Kos was not the defender we needed to replace this summer. This was a desperate bit of business. Don’t see us being any better for it.
Straw clutching has turned into a national sport.
Signing Luiz would suck.
Selling Iwobi would also suck.
Spurs signing Dybala would perhaps suck the most.
Luiz better hope Kolasinac has forgiven this

Hmmm na it's to expensive, remember real signed Kaka early and hes knees were shot he was shit and on monster transfer and wages. Same with united and Hargreaves they were both just signed 6 months early and arrived broken. With £72m we really cant roll that dice.
Having a quick scan of the chelsea forums, and they seem to be largely pissed off over this deal which a positive. Low Price tag and the loss of his passing ability are the main sources of lamentation
Not sure why deardevil is clinging onto Iwobi.
What if it enables one final madness? Someone who actually has end product and can can play on the wing effectively?
Fuck Spurs btw, as if it needs saying again.
Disgusting they were allowed to go in that CL run. Fuck Dortmund. This has given them the false big club image. Was really hoping for a difficult summer for them. Makes our equivalent stadium move era look pitiful.
Tottenham are loaning Lo Celso with an obligation to buy. I wonder if they don't have the money or have changed the deal last minute in order to try and use their money on Dybala? Maybe Eriksen will be sold in January or go on a free after all? That seems the most likely reason.

This is not a Cech transfer. Luiz isn't past it and is an improvement of what we got for a start. He was a starter for them too so it weakens them. Not to mention he has been edging a move to us since 2 years ago
Anyway, that aside we've done mostly superb business. Very pleased with Raul and Edu.
Hope we can get one of Europe's elite young CBs for Jan or next summer.
Wouldn't mind a monster CM either. Then we're complete.

There may be ticking timebombs yet to go off for them. 3 things i want to see happen
Dybala and lo celso flop, or at least don't deliver the value outlaid
They lose their experienced assets like eriksen, alderweireld, and vertonghen for nothing
The desperation to stay relevant skews their wage bill the way ours has been and it becomes unmanageable

Fuck Inter you mean. Their inability to beat PSV at home meant Spurs go through to the KO stage.
They actually have too many midfielders now and little wingers. Lo Celso and Dybala is overkill. Alli and Eriksen wants to play there too
There's been talk of those three leaving them for a few years now and it still hasn't happened. What kind of date rape is Levy giving them every summer?
They could be in pretty deep trouble. The CL run is very unlikely to be repeated and they're not title prospects this season. Pochettino is unsettled and his relationship with Levy is a mess. And they're deep in years of shit financially (despite the temporary windfall of reaching the CL final).
Don't envy them at this point.

Good point, I forgot about how embarrassing their group stage was. Hopefully they stop lucking out for once.

This is Levy conspiring with Betis to fuck PSG over, they have a sell on clause which is devalued if the transfer happens this way.
Spurs have a lot of players now. Will be formidable. They’re going for it, but they should’ve acquired a natural wide AM.
This is the first window in Emirates era that we addressed all the needs. I’m shook.
You excited for Zaha Claude?

Happy if it stays this way.
They really went all out. 30 mil for Sessegnon, 60 for Ndoumbele, 60 for Lo Celso, 70+ for Dybala. They are pushing Liverpool an City for it. £350k per week for Dybala.

We are actually bullying clubs like Chelsea into submission, savagely stealing their experienced CB in a summer where they can't buy players. Could never happen under Gazidis the fraud.

IF it works out that Lo Celso is Eriksen's replacement and Dybala was just a punt because he's levels above Lo Celso but it was always one or the other, I will gladly take that.

Let’s keep our cash. Lots of folks to integrate. No need for Zaha or Rugani.
Go back to Leipzig in January and collect our defender. Keep him unsettled
HomeSteak wrote:Only a 2 year deal, that's good. Also 8 milion is nothing. Basically we got Kos out and Luiz in for almost the same money.
If we are paying £8m and matching his chelski contract, he is £7.4m more expensive.
£8m + £120k a week (2 years) = £20,480,000
£4.5m + £90k a week + £75k a week = £13,080,000

David is earning his 4$ today.
I don't see how Lo Celso and Dybala fit in the same side. Makes no sense.

Maybe Lampard doesn’t want him around. Proper alpha who could destabilize the dressing room. Whatever the case, our gain.
Luiz is better than Koscielny

You forgot Eriksen. Is Alli going wide?
Lamela is fit too
Daily Record saying that Celtic have insisted on a 10% sell on clause in Tierney’s contract too. Not the biggest concern at the moment, if he works out well it’ll be worth it in the end.
